Every plant grows with the help of three major elements: water, air and energy. Energy is obtained from direct sunlight and soil. There are many plants that do not require energy or a soil base to grow, but they usually grow slower than those plants that take a good amount of soil and energy to grow. Air also provides vital content for the life cycle of a plant. Most parts of a plant are built up with the help of carbon (like new leaves, stem, roots) Glucose in the plants are produced by the oxygen and this oxygen comes from carbon dioxide.
Water is another necessity for a plant to grow. When water gets absorbed by the roots, it circulates to the leaves through stems and branches. The hydrogen found in water is used to build up glucose molecules. Plants obtain the energy they need to stay alive from the sun. The cells of a plant look green due to the presence of molecules in the chloroplast that reflect green light.
Plant biodiversity is one of the most important characteristics of our environment because the complete balance of the ecosystem depends on it. It plays an important role in climate moderation, in the mitigation of soil erosion, shelter provision for animals, and it's an important source of food and medicine.
Such an interesting topic. Plants definitely play an important role in keeping out planet alive
